Dance Bog Post

We went to our school hall and were guided by a Dance teacher called Dean.
Heres some pictures…

We had two dance routines called hip hop and cha cha. Hip hop is a fast moved dance like jazz.  Cha cha is a slow moved dance where you hold hands with a girl and dance with them. We did a performance on the 2nd friday at about 7:00 PM after dinner. When we arrived we had to go to our classrooms but I had to go to room 7a. That’s because my sister Sophie has her dance before mine so my friends who siblings who are in the year4 hub has to stay in room 7a. When our time was ready we went to our whanau zone room 2. We all got into class lines but girls line on the right and boys line on the left I was in the 2nd in the line in the front. Then when we were all ready we headed off to the school hall and sat down in our line’s and watched the year five’s do their cha cha and hip hop. Next we watched the year 7 and 8’s do their dance and 2nd dance. Then it was our turn we went into the middle of the hall still in our line’s and then the the music started we did our actions for the dance about 3 minutes later it was time to do our cha cha. When our cha cha finished I thought when we were practising our cha cha I thought I just didn’t like it at all but actually it lots of fun. It was time to go home so we headed back home.

Free Writing

WALT write for enjoyment (Free Writing)

Once upon a time there lived a boy called Jason, but everyone called him Jay. He lived in a forest, but it wasn’t a tribe he was in, he was in a medium sized town that was actually very very rich. Most of all he was the richest of them all, he was also the Chief/Master of Underground Town. Everyone loved him, he was the best and greatest of them all. His house was underground and what he had in his room was a double bed, but with no bed on the bottom. He had to pull out a desk on the bottom with some drawers on the bottom as well. His bed was all covered in blue. He had an electric guitar in the left corner of his bedroom. And he had a secret lair behind the desk of his bed, it had a hidden trapdoor. The door led down into where he keeps his money machines that make money for him, he also keeps his inventions in there too and he normally keeps a couple of his special stuff in there because it isn't very big. He has his own garage that he keeps in the back of the house. He has his two cars in there, an Audi R8 and a Zonda R in it and his tools. He has a few rooms that he owns, they are locked up with his passcodes, that only he and his friends know. The first one he keeps his motor racing gear in. His second one has all his music instruments and music gear. The third one he has all his pets in, with loads of water and food in the room. The fourth one he had all his collectables, example: Pokemon cards collections star wars cards. His fifth room he had all his sports gear in etc, his BMX gear and his soccer gear and his league gear and many other sports gear. His sixth one he had all his guns in, like Nerf Guns and actual real guns and just all guns even all his swords, blades, knives, pocket knives, shurikens, grenades, concussions, bombs, and so many others, that was probably his biggest room out of all of them.

His friends were called Tom Hicks, Jody Amby and Finn Thomas. They were all rich, as rich as can be because Jason helped his friends family by giving them the best job lots of money and the best school that didn't cost much and it was huge. That's what made his friends rich.

The story where we don't need to describe everything about him

*Knock Knock* It was Finn, he wanted to play some Zombie Warfare with him. A little moment later Jason opened the door.
“Hi Finn what do you want?” said Jason.
“I was wondering if you wanted to play some more Zombie Warfare with me, Jody and Tom?” asked Finn.
“OK where about?”
“Just at Central Command.”
“Sweet, I'll come meet me at the entrance.”
“Ok!” they both shouted as they went down the street to Central Command. When they were in Central Command the Captain, Captain Smoke was there waiting for them. The reason he was called Captain Smoke is because once when he was fighting he was the best of them all, but then he choked and breathed the smoke. He forgot to put on his smoke mask and he died. But then the army hospital came straight away and had taken him back to the hospital tents and they actually brung him back to life! Now that he was the only one left alive he was now Captain and called Captain Smoke, weird name but it suits him! When he walked us into the gear room he said,
"laser strike guns or other guns?"
“We will have laser strike guns please” they all said. Very well then, he went and got the armour and guns when he came back he had some grenades, fake of course! But when you throw them at the zombies the grenade does a glitchy spark and that’s it exploding and it only does damage to zombies. You can reuse it, so it never useless. When we got into our armour we went into the big door and we were into the zombie zone, there were zombies coming out already and we started to shoot. Jason already got 10 down, well that’s just because he practices and trains for the army as well. 5 minutes later they all were running low on their stamina and energy bullets for the guns, then he noticed that there was a room room. He stepped inside with his friends behind him, he opened the door and he pointed the gun into directions just in case zombies were in there. But instead there was something greater than zombies and more useful and helpful, there were grenades, energy bullets, and concussions that they didn't get given to from the Captain Smoke.

They all got geared up and actually had enough concussions to share about 10 people but they took two each and then they set off and they were killing more zombies. After the hour was up they went back through the way they came in when they were starting. When they exited the Central Command they went out and got an ice cream just for the celebration because they got more zombies than the last one. They always held the record for the most zombies killed. Also the zombies were holographic so you had to wear headsets to see them.

Later on they stopped at Jason's place just to grab the go karts he had in his garage, lying around somewhere. Then they got the helmets and then they went off to a go karting track to practice for their championship go karts derby/rally๐Ÿš“, but they really didn't really need to because they always won, so they just said altogether "let's just do it for fun!๐Ÿ‘" Jason agreed and he also said
"maybe we actually shouldn’t do it this, just so the others can have a turn at winning or at least coming 2nd or 3rd, at least because I always get 1st, and you get 2nd, and you get 3rd, it’s not really fair for them. They can go to the next stage of rallies, but it will harder and harder for them to compete and get first like I did. I actually got more than $5000 worth of fuel for the kart. What a day that was."

After they did their karting at the track they all went to Jason’s house, just to have a nerf war. When they got to Jason's house they got all prepared and got their nerf guns, nerf meeles and their army outfit on. And then they started the war! Finn had the Nerf Mastodon and Tom had the Nerf Modules Lonfire and customised it into a sniper rifle, which actually looked really cool. Next Jody had a Hyper Fire because he likes using the drum mags and it's a battery gun so its automatic shoots five darts a second and he put just a normal sniper scope.

Multi Cultural Day

Multicultural Day On Tuesday the 21st it was multicultural day and we had to dress in clothes from our culture. Most people came in New Zealand clothes even though they had other cultures that they are related to as well. People that were born in New Zealand just wanted to represent New Zealand, because that's the only thing they had. During the day we were with parents that were from Israel, Russia, China and Pakistan. I learned a lot about them all. In the afternoon we had our multicultural assembly, there were Chinese drums, people from Switzerland singing, and many others. When we got back the bell had already rung, that meant time to go home and tell my mum what I did today.

Don't Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus

Why should the Pigeon drive the bus ? Because when the Pigeon is about to crash if the Pigeon is strong really strong he can fly out of the bus and grab hold of the bus and stop it and put it into the right position on the road. I think the Pigeon should drive the bus because if one of your family members drives a bus you can drive a bus only if you're old enough to drive a bus.

Why shouldn't the Pigeon Drive a bus? Because Pigeons can't get a license because they can't drive buses. They only fly they can't drive. They poop everywhere and they won't get any passengers because there's poop everywhere! . Pigeons is a bird part of the animals species. They can't drive anything they only fly that's how they get to places and Humans use buses or any other vehicle to get places. So I think that if Pigeons drive buses.Because they shouldn't fly anymore because they have got the buses to get them places.

Mr Twit

Mr Twit is an bird catcher then he kills them and makes them up into bird pie. Mr Twits an inconsiderate beast he has all these junky foods from years ago stuck on his beard and licks it to. Mr Twit does awful tricks on Mrs Twit his wife. Mr Twit does lots of stupid tricks with monkeys and he would normally make them stand on their heads on top of each other. He would make them stand like that while they are out. Mr Twit is a fat and disgusting man one he kills two he eats them three he bought a gun and tried to shoot all the birds on their roof.

Woodend Camp

WALT: Describe Our Feelings At Camp

On Tuesday morning us Year 5s were going to leave to camp. The camp was called Woodend Christian Camp,the reason they called the camp Christian,is because the camps all run by Christians,Christians are people who read the Bible and that who believe in God and Jesus. At the camp I achieved  getting one of top people on the go karts,we all got 3 laps around the track and I was going as fast as the go karts can go and I didn't crash one bit I was very proud of myself. I am also proud of the climbing wall because I was the first one to reach the top of the first bar of the first bit of climbing wall. I was very proud that I did it and it was very high my legs was shaking and also on the fourth bit of the climbing wall and got higher than the first three.

Habitat: Wetlands

WALT:Describe a New Zealand habitat and the animals who live there.

My habitat is the Wetlands I chose it because it reminds me of the day I was at the Wetlands.It is a lovely place to go to.The Maori used the place as their home.At the Wetlands there is 5 different ways to remember the Wetlands The first one is bed and breakfast that means that the birds can sleep in the Wetlands and in the morning they can have their breakfast.The next thing is a sponge and that means in winter lots of water and in summer it is dry.The next thing is a sieve and that means sand,stones but when sieved the water is clear.The next thing is a nest and that mean't that the animals can breed at the Wetlands.The next thing is the Airport and that means the if Birds or Insects are travelling a long distance and need to fuel up so it goes down to the Wetlands and fuel up like at the Airport.The Wetlands is a place with lots of water and Raupo the Maoris used the Raupo to build boats so they can travel up and down the Wetlands so they can do their hunting.The Wetlands has small insects or fish that hang around the shore of the water like Water Boatman,Back Swimmer,Leaches,and Red Larvae.They all can be very fast if you want to catch one.In the winter the water rises and in summer the water dries up a bit.The Wetlands has lots of animals like Harrier Hawks,Ducks,Fish,Insects,and Eels.The animals use the place like a home.The Wetlands is a favorite place for predators because there's lots of preys cause there's lots of water so the prey like to swim and drink in the water.The Wetlands is a good place for a walk and its like an adventure place because there's loads of space and trees to adventure.The Wetlands is Foggy,Wet,Muddy,Creepy,Peaceful,Mysterious,Quiet,Native,and Natural.

The Back Swimmer.
The Back Swimmer is a little insect that can't breathe underwater.They use bubbles so they can breathe and then when there is no more air in the bubble they come up to the surface to fill up the bubble and then go back under the water.

The Tadpole.
The Tadpole is a little baby frog that swims instead of leaping on the ground or the Lilly pads on top of the water.

The Harrier Hawk.
The Harrier Hawk is a bird that loves the Wetlands cause there is lots of Ducks and swans to eat for there breakfast,dinner,,lunch,and afternoon tea.

Shrapnel Valley, Gallipoli

Today me and Duffy had another terrifying day.  When I

walked through the battle front there was heaps of gun

smoke.  I could barely see through the smoke to see the

wounded!  I also couldn’t see any of the grenades,

missiles and bombs.  I was terrified that I might get

shot.  I felt safer with Duffy my life-saving donkey!

When it got dark I didn’t feel very comfortable without

my bed and my room.  I think about having dinner with

my family, eating roast beef and potatoes.

Instead of peace and quiet I can hear soldiers yelling in

pain .  I can smell gun smoke, blood and dirt.

I feel very scared and I am shivering like I have never

shivered before.

Maths term 2

We are learning to use directions.
We can do this when we can give and follow directions using the points of a compass - North, South East and West.

Room 2 went outside and did a treasure hunt in pairs. One person hid the treasure. They then had to give their partner instructions to find it. E.g 2 steps north... It was a fun way to practice what we had been learning in class.

Our next learning step is to identify and use other directions such as north-east, south-west etc.
